Atlanta Physical Impairment Attorney

Types of Physical Impairments That Qualify

The Social Security Administration provides a list of impairments for each system of the body that are thought to be severe enough to prevent the ability to work for an adult or for a child under the age of 18, which are severe enough to cause "marked and severe functional limitations." All eligible impairments must last for a minimum of 12 months. There are 14 systems of the body that are described including musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, neurological, immune system and endocrine.

If you have a physical impairment that is preventing you from working, an Atlanta Social Security disability attorney can help you to establish your condition under the listings of impairment and help you to submit your application for Social Security Disability benefits. The Listing of Impairments can be found on the Social Security website. It can be difficult to read through and understand, but we can help.

What is Physical Impairment?

In the simplest terms, a physical impairment is a disability or injury that affects physical coordination, limits the person's ability to move, and/or their ability to perform physical activities. This could impact daily living functions, impede independent movement, and limit physical and motor tasks.
